O hwat äro mankönsins nathur haffwir, jordzlighin födhis aff jordhinne, ok aff fadhirlika guddomenom ällir gudhelika fadhirlikhetinne ädhlas (insignitur) then som fatigher är ok wtlänninge, än the rike. .. (se ovan under ädhla s.) SpV 558. " engin dygd är wärdh ful lön wtan hon ädhlas medh kropsins öffning" Mecht 229. " alla hänna dygder the äthlas (nobititantur) oc dyrkas thär wtaff" ib 216. - Jfr forädhlas.

Orthography: Early Old Swedish used different letters for ä and ö, so ädhla may have also been written as ædhla
