en af de bland en stads borgare utsedde fyra män, som hade att vaka öfver stadens förvaltning och rättskipning. Jfr Molbech, Dansk Glossarium 1: 205 och Kalkar, Ordbog 1: 552. ragualdus aduocatus linopensis. cantus uestriby sueno tyndirboe karulus holmburgis et hænichinus sadlamestære fiærdhunghmen SD 2: 565 (1309). Jfr fiärþungs höfþinge.

Orthography: Early Old Swedish used different letters for ä and ö, so fiärdhungman may have also been written as fiærdhungman
