förtära, förbruka. " sädhen bliffwer saa drygh, ath hon ikke förnötas eller optäras kan i ij (2) sombra och samfälda winthra" BSH 5: 303 (1508).

Orthography: Early Old Swedish used different letters for ä and ö, so uptära may have also been written as uptæra
