Väplinger

Old Swedish Dictionary - väplinger

Meaning of Old Swedish word "väplinger" (or væplinger) in Swedish.

As defined by K.F Söderwall's dictionary of Medieval Swedish:

väplinger (væplinger)
trifolium Lin., väppling? " vi gangom aff en rosengaard i annan, oc owergiffuande wäplingen (violas) skyndom os at sökia lilior" Su 178 (sannolikt beror wäplingen här på felaktig öfversättning).

Orthography: Early Old Swedish used different letters for ä and ö, so väplinger may have also been written as væplinger

Part of speech: nn

Possible runic inscription in Medieval Futhork:ᚠᛅᛕᛚᛁᚿᚵᚽᚱ
Medieval Runes were used in Sweden from 12th to 17th centuries.
